Terzetto Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CCCC DEDE EDED

Hark o'er the silent waters stealingA
The dash of oars sounds soft and clearB
Through night's deep veil all forms concealingA
Nearer it comes and yet more nearB
-
See where the long reflection glistensC
In yon lone tower her watch light burnsC
To hear our distant oars she listensC
And listtening strikes the harp by turnsC
-
The stars are bright the skies uncloudedD
No moonbeam shines no breezes wakeE
Is it my love in darkness shroudedD
Whose dashing oar disturbs the lakeE
-
O haste sweet maid the cords unrollingE
The holy hermit chides our stayD
Hark from his lonely islet tollingE
His midnight bell shall guide our wayD
