A Fragment Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHDGIJDKLMNAGONay deem me not insensible Cesario | A |
To female charms nor think this heart of mine | B |
Is cas'd in adamant because forsooth | C |
I cannot ogle and hyperbolize | D |
And whisper tender nothings in the ear | E |
Of ev'ry would be beauty holding out | F |
The bright but treacherous flame of flattery | G |
To watch the she moths of a drawing room | H |
Sport round the beam and burn their pretty wings | D |
Ere conscious of their danger yet believe me | G |
I love a maid whose untranscended form | I |
Is yet less lovely than her spotless mind | J |
With modest frankness unaffected genius | D |
Unchang'd good humour beauty void of art | K |
And polish'd wit that seeks not to offend | L |
And winning smiles that seek not to betray | M |
She charms the sight and fascinates the soul | N |
Where dwells this matchless nymph alas Cesario | A |
'Tis but a sickly creature of my fancy | G |
Unparallel'd in nature | O |
