To An Absentee Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABACACDADAEFEF

O'er hill and dale and distant seaA
Through all the miles that stretch betweenB
My thought must fly to rest on theeA
And would though worlds should interveneB
Nay thou art now so dear methinksA
The farther we are forced apartC
Affection's firm elastic linksA
But bind the closer round the heartC
For now we sever each from eachD
I learned what I have lost in theeA
Alas that nothing else could teachD
How great indeed my love should beA
Farewell I did not know thy worthE
But thou art gone and now 'tis prizedF
So angels walk'd unknown on earthE
But when they flew were recognizedF
