Those Evening Bells Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABB CCAA DEAA

Those evening bells those evening bellsA
How many a tale their music tellsA
Of Yorkshire cakes and crumpets primeB
And letters only just in timeB
-
The Muffin boy has passed awayC
The Postman gone and I must payC
For down below Deaf Mary dwellsA
And does not hear those Evening BellsA
-
And so 'twill be when she is goneD
That tuneful peal will still ring onE
And other maids with timely yellsA
Forget to stay those Evening BellsA
