The Poet's Portion Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCCDDEEEEFFGGHHEEII JJKKEELLBB

What is a mine a treasury a dowerA
A magic talisman of mighty powerB
A poet's wide possession of the earthC
He has th' enjoyment of a flower's birthC
Before its budding ere the first red streaksD
And Winter cannot rob him of their cheeksD
Look if his dawn be not as other men'sE
Twenty bright flushes ere another kensE
The first of sunlight is abroad he seesE
Its golden 'lection of the topmost treesE
And opes the splendid fissures of the mornF
When do his fruits delay when doth his cornF
Linger for harvesting Before the leafG
Is commonly abroad in his piled sheafG
The flagging poppies lose their ancient flameH
No sweet there is no pleasure I can nameH
But he will sip it first before the leesE
'Tis his to taste rich honey ere the beesE
Are busy with the brooms He may forestallI
June's rosy advent for his coronalI
Before th' expectant buds upon the boughJ
Twining his thoughts to bloom upon his browJ
Oh blest to see the flower in its seedK
Before its leafy presence for indeedK
Leaves are but wings on which the summer fliesE
And each thing perishable fades and diesE
Escap'd in thought but his rich thinkings beL
Like overflows of immortalityL
So that what there is steep'd shall perish neverB
But live and bloom and be a joy foreverB
