The Broken Dish Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF BGBG

What's life but full of care and doubtA
With all its fine humanitiesB
With parasols we walk aboutA
Long pigtails and such vanitiesB
-
We plant pomegranate trees and thingsC
And go in gardens sportingD
With toys and fans of peacocks' wingsC
To painted ladies courtingD
-
We gather flowers of every hueE
And fish in boats for fishesF
Build summer houses painted blueE
But life's as frail as dishesF
-
Walking about their groves of treesB
Blue bridges and blue riversG
How little thought them two ChineseB
They'd both be smashed to shiversG
