Silence Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACDCEFFThere is a silence where hath been no sound | A |
There is a silence where no sound may be | B |
In the cold grave under the deep deep sea | B |
Or in wide desert where no life is found | A |
Which hath been mute and still must sleep profound | A |
No voice is hush'd no life treads silently | B |
But clouds and cloudy shadows wander free | B |
That never spoke over the idle ground | A |
But in green ruins in the desolate walls | C |
Of antique palaces where Man hath been | D |
Though the dun fox or wild hy na calls | C |
And owls that flit continually between | E |
Shriek to the echo and the low winds moan | F |
There the true Silence is self conscious and alone | F |
