Queen Mab Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEFE CGHG IJKJ LMNM ECAC OPQP BRSR TNUN

A little fairy comes at nightA
Her eyes are blue her hair is brownB
With silver spots upon her wingsC
And from the moon she flutters downB
-
She has a little silver wandD
And when a good child goes to bedE
She waves her wand from right to leftF
And makes a circle round its headE
-
And then it dreams of pleasant thingsC
Of fountains filled with fairy fishG
And trees that bear delicious fruitH
And bow their branches at a wishG
-
Of arbors filled with dainty scentsI
From lovely flowers that never fadeJ
Bright flies that glitter in the sunK
And glow worms shining in the shadeJ
-
And talking birds with gifted tonguesL
For singing songs and telling talesM
And pretty dwarfs to show the wayN
Through fairy hills and fairy dalesM
-
But when a bad child goes to bedE
From left to right she weaves her ringsC
And then it dreams all through the nightA
Of only ugly horrid thingsC
-
Then lions come with glaring eyesO
And tigers growl a dreadful noiseP
And ogres draw their cruel knivesQ
To shed the blood of girls and boysP
-
Then stormy waves rush on to drownB
Or raging flames come scorching roundR
Fierce dragons hover in the airS
And serpents crawl along the groundR
-
Then wicked children wake and weepT
And wish the long black gloom awayN
But good ones love the dark and findU
The night as pleasant as the dayN
