Oh Peace oh come with me and dwellA
But stop for there's the bellA
Oh Peace for thee I go and sit in churchesB
On Wednesday when there's very fewC
In loft or pewC
Another ring the tarts are come from Birch'sD
Oh Peace for thee I have avoided marriageE
Hush there's a carriageE
Oh Peace thou art the best of earthly goodsF
The five Miss WoodsF
Oh Peace thou art the goddess I adoreG
There come some moreG
Oh Peace thou child of solitude and quietH
That's Lord Dunn's footman for he loves a riotH
-
Oh PeaceI
Knocks will not ceaseI
Oh Peace thou wert for human comfort plann'dJ
That's Weippert's bandJ
Oh Peace how glad I welcome thy approachesB
I hear the sound of coachesD
Oh Peace oh Peace another carriage stopsK
It's early for the BlenkinsopsK
-
Oh Peace with thee I love to wanderL
But wait till I have showed up Lady SquanderL
And now I've seen her up the stairM
Oh Peace but here comes Captain HareM
Oh Peace thou art the slumber of the mindN
Untroubled calm and quiet and unbrokenO
If that is Alderman Guzzle from PortsokenO
Alderman Gobble won't be far behindN
Oh Peace serene in worldly shynessK
Make way there for his Serene HighnessK
-
Oh Peace if you do not disdainO
To dwell amongst the menial trainO
I have a silent place and loneO
That you and I may call our ownO
Where tumult never makes an entryP
Susan what business have you in my pantryP
-
Oh Peace but there is Major MonkQ
At variance with his wife Oh PeaceK
And that great German Vander TrunkQ
And that great talker Miss ApreeceK
Oh Peace so dear to poet's quillsK
Oh Peace our greatest renovatorL
I wonder where I put my waiterL
Oh Peace but here my Ode I'll ceaseK
I have no peace to write of PeaceK
