Woman Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDED FGHG IJKJ LIMI NFOF PQRQ SGTG

I've had my share of bright employA
My share of pain and blameB
But thro' it all I've thought with joyA
Of tender woman's nameB
-
Her healing tones have often broughtC
New gladness to my soulD
Her breath hath rent the darken'd cloudsE
That often o'er it rollD
-
Her voice hath often cheer'd my heartF
In sickness and in painG
And help'd me bear the surgeon's knifeH
Or fever's fervid reignG
-
But oh that voice can change its toneI
That tender feeling dieJ
Those gentle loving tones becomeK
A terrorizing cryJ
-
In kindly sound a woman's voiceL
Is happiness aloneI
And may it ever be my lotM
To hear its tender toneI
-
But let me never know the thoughtsN
Of vengeful woman's heartF
Or hear the voice that breathes them forthO
With cold and cruel dartF
-
O woman thou hast mighty pow'rP
Among the sons of menQ
For thou canst make deep rankling woundsR
And heal them up againQ
-
Oh let thy angel nature shineS
And may we all refrainG
To wake the tiger in thy breastT
Bound by a slender chainG
