Temptation Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BCBC DEDE FGFH IJIK LMLMENEN

The greatest glory consists not in never falling but in getting up every time you fall CONFUCIUSA
-
-
The raging force of passion's stormB
Say who can check at willC
Or cope with sin in ev'ry formB
With ever conquering skillC
-
How oft we've tried and hop'd and pray'dD
To conquer in the rightE
But still how oft our hearts dismay'dD
Have fail'd amid the fightE
-
But still we fought the wrong we loath'dF
And though we fought in vainG
Our wills in fleshly weakness cloth'dF
Would try the fight againH
-
And He I apprehend who seesI
And knows our struggles hereJ
Will lead us onward by degreesI
To triumph though we fearK
-
And even tho' we're never quitL
Of these sharp earthly thornsM
In black despair we'll never sitL
Till danger's signal warnsM
We'll gird ourselves anew to fightE
Our fell determin'd foeN
And with experience's lightE
Each time more skilful growN
