Purity Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEFE GFHF IJKJ LMNO

Keep pure the thoughts within thy mindA
For they to actions turnB
Which succor want or pity woeC
Or all but self they spurnB
-
Keep pure thy thoughts for outward looksD
Will then in beauty shineE
Although thy face be plain 'twill beF
A human face divineE
-
Keep pure thy thoughts by trust in GodG
And when in trouble's seaF
Look thou for strength to brave the stormH
Upon thy bended kneeF
-
Then lift thy head with fearless frontI
For come whatever mayJ
Thou'lt gather strength to brave it wellK
Thro' ev'ry passing dayJ
-
Keep pure thy heart oh keep it pureL
And thou wilt bless the hourM
When thou withstood temptation's siegeN
And bridl'd passion's pow'rO
