Ode To Man Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCD EFGF HIJI KLML IHNH FOPO

A man is not what oft he seemsA
On this terrestrial sphereB
No pow'r to wield no honor'd placeC
Oft curb his spirit hereD
-
He knows not what within him liesE
Until his pow'rs be triedF
And when for them some use is foundG
They spring from where they hideF
-
To startle and to puzzle himH
Who never knew their forceI
Because his unfreed spirit keptJ
A low and shackl'd courseI
-
Dishearten'd and despairing heK
Had often sigh'd aloneL
Not thinking that in other waysM
His spirit might have grownL
-
Not thinking that another courseI
Which needed pluck and vimH
Might raise his drowning spirit highN
And teach it how to swimH
-
To battle with the rolling tideF
That hurries onward menO
And raise his head above the wavesP
That come and go againO
