Love Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFFF GFGF FFFF FDFD

Thou source of bliss thou cause of woeA
Disturber of the mind of manB
Wilt thou still calmly onward goA
A sightless leader of the vanB
-
In court and camp wilt thou still ruleC
And nation's destinies still swayD
Make wise men act as doth the foolC
And blindly follow thee awayD
-
Thou siren nymph ethereal spriteE
Thou skilful charmer of mankindF
Oh when wilt thou lead man arightF
And when will they thy cords unbindF
-
Thy potent spells have still their forceG
And reason's dictates still are scorn'dF
And reason runs a shackl'd courseG
While life with love is still adorn'dF
-
Thou fond inmate of maiden's breastF
Thou lighter up of manly heartF
Thou surely hast some high behestF
And we shall surely never partF
-
We'll never part but oh thou friendF
And cheerer of life's dreary wayD
May reason guide us to the endF
And may she ever with thee stayD
