| 'Lo I have gather'd faggots in the wood ' | C |

| And light a fire and fan a temporal mood | D |

| So sit till morning when the light is grown | E |
| That he the path can read | F |
| Then bid the man God speed | G |
| His morning is not thine yet must thou own | E |
| They have a cheerful warmth those ashes on the stone | E |
