Cold's the wind and wet's the rainA
Saint Hugh be our good speedB
Ill is the weather that bringeth no gainA
Nor helps good hearts in needB
-
Troll the bowl the jolly nut brown bowlC
And here kind mate to theeD
Let's sing a dirge for Saint Hugh's soulC
And down it merrilyD
-
Down a down hey down a downE
Hey derry derry down a downE
Close with the tenor boyF
Ho well done to me let comeG
Ring compass gentle joyF
Troll the bowl the nut brown bowlC
And here kind c As often as there be men to drinkH
-
At last when all have drunk this verseI
-
Cold's the wind and wet's the rainA
Saint Hugh be our good speedB
Ill is the weather that bringeth no gainA
Nor helps good hearts in needB
