When Pierrot Passes Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABCBCDDEFFFAA GGHIHIJJKLKKLL

High above his happy headA
Little leaves of Spring were spreadA
And adown the dewy lawnB
Soft as moss the young green grassC
Wooed his footsteps and the dawnB
Paused to watch him passC
Even so he seemed in truthD
Dancing between Love and YouthD
And his song as gay a thingE
Still before him seemed to goF
Light as any bird awingF
Blithe as jonquils in the SpringF
And we laughed and said PierrotA
'Tis PierrotA
-
Oh he sang Her hands are farG
Sweeter than white roses areG
When I hold them to my lipsH
Ere I dare a finer blissI
Petal like her finger tipsH
Tremble 'neath my kissI
And the mocking of her eyesJ
Lures me like blue butterfliesJ
Falling lifting of their graceK
And her mouth her mouth is wineL
And we laughed as though her faceK
Suddenly illumed the placeK
And we said 'Tis ColumbineL
ColumbineL
