Twilight Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABB CCDD BBEE FFBB

Below them in the twilight the quiet village liesA
And warm within its holding the old folks and the wiseA
But here within the open fields the paths of Eden showB
And hand in hand across them the little lovers goB
-
Below them in the village are peaceful folk and stillC
They gossip of old yesterdays of merry times or illC
But here beyond the twilight stray two who only seeD
The promise of to morrow the dawn that is to beD
-
Below them in the village the quiet hearth flames glowB
With friendly word and greeting the neighbours come and goB
But here the silence folds them together each to eachE
And lights within the mating eyes the dream beyond their speechE
-
Below them in the village stay honest toil and truthF
They rest there who adventured the road of love and youthF
Smile out old hearts when once again two take the path you knowB
And hand in hand at twilight the little lovers goB
