The New Spring Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDDEEFFGHIIThe long grief left her old and then | A |
Came love and made her young again | A |
As though some newer gentler Spring | B |
Should start dead roses blossoming | B |
Old roses that have lain full long | C |
In some forgotten book of song | C |
Brought from their darkness to be one | D |
With lilting winds and rain and sun | D |
And as they too might bring away | E |
From that dim volume where they lay | E |
Some lyric hint some song's perfume | F |
To add its beauty to their bloom | F |
So love awakes her heart that lies | G |
Shrouded in fragrant memories | H |
And bids it bloom again and wake | I |
Sweeter for that old sorrow's sake | I |
