IA
-
Though other eyes were turned to himB
He turned to look in mineC
Though others filled the cup abrimB
He might not taste the wineC
-
I am so glad my eyes were firstD
In which his own might sinkE
I am so glad he went athirstD
Until I bade him drinkE

-
The Well Belov d took my handD
And led me to his fair abodeD
The home that Love and he had plannedD
Strange that so well I knew the roadD
-
And through the open door we wentD
And at our feet the hearth light fellF
And I I laughed in all contentD
Seeing I knew the place so wellF
-
Ah to no stranger Love displayedD
Its every nook its every graceG
This was the House of Dreams I madeD
Long long before I saw his faceG

IIIA
-
I jested over much in days of oldD
I looked on sorrow once and did not careH
Now Love hath crowned my head with very goldD
I will be worthy of the joy I wearH
-
There is not one a hungered or a coldD
Shall seek my door but that he too shall shareH
Something of this vast happiness I holdD
I will be worthy of the joy I wearH
-
For I was hungered and Love spread the feastD
Cold and He touched my heart and warmed it thereH
Yea crowned me Queen I neediest of His leastD
I will be worthy of the joy I wearH
