The April Boughs Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB ADEF GHIH JKGK

It was not then her heart brokeA
That moment when she knewB
That all her faith held holiestC
Was utterly untrueB
-
It was not then her heart brokeA
That night of prayer and tearsD
When first she dared the thought of lifeE
Through all the empty yearsF
-
But when beneath the April boughsG
She felt the blossoms stirH
The careless mirth of yesterdayI
Came near and smiled at herH
-
Old singing lingered in the windJ
Old joy came close againK
Oh underneath the April boughsG
I think her heart broke thenK
