Shade Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AAA BBB CCC DDD EEE FFF

The kindliest thing God ever madeA
His hand of very healing laidA
Upon a fevered world is shadeA
-
His glorious company of treesB
Throw out their mantles and on theseB
The dust stained wanderer finds easeB
-
Green temples closed against the beatC
Of noontime's blinding glare and heatC
Open to any pilgrim's feetC
-
The white road blisters in the sunD
Now half the weary journey doneD
Enter and rest Oh weary oneD
-
And feel the dew of dawn still wetE
Beneath thy feet and so forgetE
The burning highway's ache and fretE
-
This is God's hospitalityF
And whoso rests beneath a treeF
Hath cause to thank Him gratefullyF
