The lithe wind races and singsA
Over the grasses and wheatB
See the emerald floor as it springsA
To the touch of invisible feetB

Ah later the fir and the pineC
Shall stoop to its weightier treadD
As it tramps the thundering brineC
Till it shudders and whitens in dreadD

Breath of man a glass of thine ownE
Is the wind on the land on the seaF
Joy of life at thy touch full grownE
Destruction and death maybeF
