To A Jilted Lover Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABC ADE AFG HIJ HKL HMN OPQ ORS OTU

Cold on my narrow cot I lieA
and in sorrow lookB
through my window square of blackC
-
figured in the midnight skyA
a mosaic of starsD
diagrams the falling yearsE
-
while from the moon my lover's eyeA
chills me to deathF
with radiance of his frozen faithG
-
Once I wounded him with soH
small a thornI
I never thought his flesh would burnJ
-
or that the heat within would growH
until he stoodK
incandescent as a godL
-
now there is nowhere I can goH
to hide from himM
moon and sun reflect his flameN
-
In the morning all shall beO
the same againP
stars pale before the angry dawnQ
-
the gilded cock will turn for meO
the rack of timeR
until the peak of noon has comeS
-
and by that glare my love will seeO
how I am stillT
blazing in my golden hellU
