The Shrike Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFDGDHIJKIJLMHNO PQC

When night comes blackA
Such royal dreams beckon this manB
As lift him apartC
From his earth wife's sideD
To wing sleep featheredE
The singular airF
While she envious brideD
Cannot follow after but liesG
With her blank brown eyes starved wideD
Twisting curses in the tangled sheetH
With taloned fingersI
Shaking in her skull's cageJ
The stuffed shape of her flown mateK
Escaped among moon plumaged strangersI
So hungered she must wait in rageJ
Until bird racketing dawnL
When her shrike faceM
Leans to peck open those locked lids to eatH
Crowns palace allN
That nightlong stole her maleO
And with red beakP
Spike and suck outQ
Last blood drop of that truant heartC
