Lament Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABA ACA ADA ADA AEA ABAA

The sting of bees took away my fatherA
who walked in a swarming shroud of wingsB
and scorned the tick of the falling weatherA
-
Lightning licked in a yellow latherA
but missed the mark with snaking fangsC
the sting of bees took away my fatherA
-
Trouncing the sea like a ragin batherA
he rode the flood in a pride of prongsD
and scorned the tick of the falling weatherA
-
A scowl of sun struck down my motherA
tolling her grave with golden gongsD
but the sting of bees took away my fatherA
-
He counted the guns of god a botherA
laughed at the ambush of angels' tonguesE
and scorned the tick of the falling weatherA
-
O ransack the four winds and find anotherA
man who can mangle the grin of kingsB
the sting of bees took away my fatherA
who scorned the tick of the falling weatherA
