Event Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABA ACD EFG HEE IFJ KLM NOE E

How the elements solidifyA
The moonlight that chalk cliffB
In whose rift we lieA
-
Back to back I hear an owl cryA
From its cold indigoC
Intolerable vowels enter my heartD
-
The child in the white crib revolves and sighsE
Opens its mouth now demandingF
His little face is carved in pained red woodG
-
Then there are the stars ineradicable hardH
One touch it burns and sickensE
I cannot see your eyesE
-
Where apple bloom ices the nightI
I walk in a ringF
A groove of old faults deep and bitterJ
-
Love cannot come hereK
A black gap discloses itselfL
On the opposite lipM
-
A small white soul is waving a small white maggotN
My limbs also have left meO
Who has dismembered usE
-
The dark is melting We touch like cripplesE
