Doom Of Exiles Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF GG

Now we returning from the vaulted domesA
Of our colossal sleep come home to findB
A tall metropolis of catacombsA
Erected down the gangways of our mindB
-
Green alleys where we reveled have becomeC
The infernal haunt of demon dangersD
Both seraph song and violins are dumbC
Each clock tick consecrates the death of strangersD
-
Backward we traveled to reclaim the dayE
Before we fell like Icarus undoneF
All we find are altars in decayE
And profane words scrawled black across the sunF
-
Still stubbornly we try to crack the nutG
In which the riddle of our race is shutG
