To The Tiber Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BCDEBDDBFGFHIJ

On its late in Inundation of RomeA
-
Well done old Flood that hiding a clear eyeB
Beneath thy yellow veil dost wend amongC
Those epic hills and dales of seven topp'd songD
To keep watch on the stone eternityE
Whereof the mortal tenants die and dieB
One more is gone the deadliest of the longD
Line the foul vast of whose unmeasured wrongD
Twined to its summit in the triple LieB
Of that thrice curs d Crown And thou brave floodF
Enterest a thousand years of carrionG
To swill away the deeps of dung and bloodF
And drown the garbaged tribes that stank thereonH
That so at least the new investitureI
Be on clean threshold and a hearth stone pureJ
