On Reading A Dictacted Letter Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACCDEFD| Dear Friend methinks when thus thy plenary soul | A |
| Speaks from yon pale default that lies so low | B |
| The hale and stalwart by thy couch must know | B |
| Such fond intoleration to be whole | A |
| As he who where the storms of battle roll | A |
| Himself unthrown beholds the cannon throw | B |
| His father at his feet and while a woe | B |
| Of splendid shame dements him to that sole | A |
| Passion above the fallen field looks round | C |
| The red conversion of the baptized ground | C |
| For aught whereon to spend his sanguine wealth | D |
| And seeking not the value but the cost | E |
| Rushes to win whatever won or lost | F |
| May end this gross unwounded infamy of health | D |
