Liberty To M. Le Diplomate Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBCDBBAEFFGHH

Thou fool who treatest with the sword and notA
With the strong arm that wields it Thou insaneB
Who seest the dew drops on the lion's maneB
But dost forget the lion Oh thou sotC
Hugging thy drunken dream Thou idiotD
Who makest a covenant against the rainB
With autumn leaves Thou atheist who dost chainB
This miserable body that can rotA
And thinkest it Me Fool for the swordless armE
Shall strike thee dead Madman the lion wakesF
And with one shake is dry Sot the day breaksF
Shall sober even thee Idiot one stormG
And thou art bare Atheist the corse is thineH
But lo the unfettered soul immortal and divineH
