L'avenir Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCACDCAEEDFFE

I saw the human millions as the sandA
Unruffled on the starlit wildernessB
The day was near and every star grew lessC
In universal dawn Then woke a bandA
Of wheeling winds and made a mighty stressC
Of morning weather and still wilder wentD
O'er shifting plains till in their last excessC
A whirlwind whirled across the whirling landA
Heaven blackened over it a voice of woesE
Foreran it the great noise of clanging foesE
Hurtled behind beneath the earth was rentD
And howling Death like an uncaverned beastF
Leaped from his lair Meanwhile morn oped the EastF
And thro' the dusty tumult God aroseE
