Czar Nicholas Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABACBAABADEFFG| We could not turn from that colossal foe | A |
| The morning shadow of whose hideous head | B |
| Darkened the furthest West and who did throw | A |
| His evening shade on Ind The polar bow | C |
| Behind him flamed and paled and through the red | B |
| Uncertain dark his vasty shape did grow | A |
| Upon the sleepless nations Lay him low | A |
| Aye low as for our priceless English dead | B |
| We lie and groan to day in England Oh | A |
| My God I think Thou hast not finished | D |
| This Thy fair world where triumph Ill or Good | E |
| We still must weep where or to lose or gain | F |
| Is woe where Pain is medicined by Pain | F |
| And Blood can only be washed out by Blood | G |
