America Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDCEBBFAAFGG

NOR force nor fraud shall sunder us O yeA
Who north or south on east or western landB
Native to noble sounds say truth for truthC
Freedom for freedom love for love and GodD
For God O ye who in eternal youthC
Speak with a living and creative floodE
This universal English and do standB
Its breathing book live worthy of that grandB
Heroic utterance parted yet a wholeF
Far yet unsever d children brave and freeA
Of the great Mother tongue and ye shall beA
Lords of an empire wide as Shakespeare s soulF
Sublime as Milton s immemorial themeG
And rich as Chaucer s speech and fair as Spenser s dreamG
