Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EEFF GGHI

They think they know what we go byA
Do they know what's underneath my skinB
Is happiness what my skin shows in my soul and IA
They think I don't mourn for what I've beenB
-
I lean upon the trees and hide in the shadowsC
I smile outside and cry in my heartD
I weep all day for all the sorrowsC
Can they tell each time I fall apartD
-
Is it easy to stand each time you fallE
What if you can't get through the wallE
Once you stood you lost your smile in the dimF
'Fake' can be the last word to describe me in the limF
-
My colourless life left without a lightG
Reality lies beyond your sightG
It was unseen and stays concealedH
While I fake my smile and remain unveiledI

Sydney Ashlyn: This poem refers to the poet. It talks about how the poet hides her pain and sorrow. However everyone thinks that she is fine and happy, she seems to fake her smile and act around people as if she doesn't cry. After all, the world gives too much pain and even if you show them your internal side, they won't change!
