The Nameless Grave Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BCBCDD EFEFGG

WRITTEN IN COVE CHURCH YARD AND OCCASIONED BY OBSERVING MY OWN SHADOW THROWN ACROSS A GRAVEA
-
-
Tell me thou grassy moundB
What dost thou coverC
In thy folds hast thou boundB
Soldier or loverC
Time o'er the turf no memorial is keepingD
Who in this lone grave forgotten is sleepingD
-
The sun's westward rayE
A dark shadow has thrownF
On this dwelling of clayE
And the shade is thine ownF
From dust and oblivion this stern lesson borrowG
Thou art living to day and forgotten to morrowG
