The Morning Hour Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AAAABBCCDDEEFF GGHHIIJJ

Like a maid on her bridal morn I riseA
With the smile on her lip and the tear in her eyesA
Whilst the breeze my crimson banner unfurlsA
I wreathe my locks with the purest pearlsA
Brighter diamonds never were seenB
Encircling the neck of an Indian queenB
I traverse the east on my glittering wingC
And my smiles awake every living thingC
And the twilight hour like a pilgrim grayD
Follows the night on her weeping wayD
I raise the veil from the saffron bedE
Where the young sun pillows his golden headE
He lifts from the ocean his burning eyeF
And his glory lights up the earth and skyF
-
Ah I am like that dewy primeG
Ere youth hath shaken hands with timeG
Ere the fresh tide of life has wasted lowH
And discovered the hidden rocks of woeH
When like the rosy beams of mornI
Joy and gladness and love were bornI
Hope divine of heavenly birthJ
And pleasure that lightens the cares of earthJ
