The Morning Comes Before The Sun Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABACDEDE FGFGHEHE IJICKEKE LMLMJEGE

Slow buds the pink dawn like a roseA
From out night's gray and cloudy sheathB
Softly and still it grows and growsA
Petal by petal leaf by leafC
Each sleep imprisoned creature breaksD
Its dreamy fetters one by oneE
And love awakes and labor wakesD
The morning comes before the sunE
-
What is this message from the lightF
So fairer far than light can beG
Youth stands a tiptoe eager brightF
In haste the risen sun to seeG
Ah check thy lunging restless heartH
Count the charmed moments as they runE
It is life's best and fairest partH
This morning hour before the sunE
-
When once thy day shall burst to flowerI
When once the sun shall climb the skyJ
And busy hour by busy hourI
The urgent noontide draws anighC
When the long shadows creep abreastK
To dim the happy task half doneE
Thou wilt recall this pause of restK
This morning hush before the sunE
-
To each one dawning and one dewL
One fresh young hour is given by fateM
One rose flush on the early blueL
Be not impatient then but waitM
Clasp the sweet peace on earth and skyJ
By midnight angels woven and spunE
Better than day its prophecyG
The morning comes before the sunE
