When dawns on earth the Easter sunA
The dear saints feel an answering thrillB
With whitest flowers their hands they fillB
And singing all in unisonA
-
Unto the battlements they pressC
The very marge of heaven how nearD
And bend and look upon us hereE
With eyes that rain down tendernessF
-
Their roses brimmed with fragrant dewG
Their lilies fair they raise on highH
Rejoice The Lord is risen they cryH
Christ is arisen we prove it trueG
-
Rejoice and dry those faithless tearsI
With which your Easter flowers are stainedJ
Share in our bliss who have attainedJ
The rapture of the eternal yearsK
-
Have proved the promise which enduresL
The Love that deigned the Love that diedM
Have reached our haven by His sideM
Are Christ's but none the less are yoursL
-
Yours with a nearness never knownN
While parted by the veils of senseO
Infinite knowledge joy intenseO
A love which is not love aloneN
-
But faith perfected vision freeP
And patience limitless and wiseQ
Beloved the Lord is risen ariseQ
And dare to be as glad as weP
-
We do rejoice we do give thanksR
O blessed ones for all your gainS
As dimly through these mists of painS
We catch the gleaming of your ranksR
-
We will arise with zeal increasedT
Blending the while we strive and gropeU
Our paler festival of HopeU
With your Fruition's perfect feastT
-
Bend low beloved against the blueG
Lift higher still the lilies fairV
Till following where our treasures areW
We come to join the feast with youG
