A Farewell. Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBCB ABDEDB ABFBFB ABGBGB

Go sun since go you mustA
The dusky evening lowers above our skyB
Our sky which was so blue and sweetly fairC
Night is not terrible that we should sighB
A little darkness we can surely bearC
Will there not be more sunshine by and byB
-
Go rose since go you mustA
Flowerless and chill the winter draweth nighB
Closed are the blithe and fragrant lips which madeD
All summer long perpetual melodyE
Cheerless we take our way but not afraidD
Will there not be more roses by and byB
-
Go love since go you mustA
Out of our pain we bless you as you flyB
The momentary heaven the rainbow litF
Was worth whole days of black and stormy skyB
Shall we not see as by the waves we sitF
Your bright sail winging shoreward by and byB
-
Go life since go you mustA
Uncertain guest and whimsical allyB
All questionless you came unquestioned goG
What does it mean to live or what to dieB
Smiling we watch you vanish for we knowG
Somewhere is nobler living by and byB
