The Innovator Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BCBCB DEDEF GHGHG IJIJI

A Pharaoh SpeaksA
-
I said Why should a pyramidB
Stand always dully on its baseC
I'll change it Let the top be hidB
The bottom take the apex placeC
And as I bade they didB
-
The people flocked in scores on scoresD
To see it balance on its tipE
They praised me with the praise that boresD
My godlike mind on every lipE
Until it fell of courseF
-
And then they took my body outG
From my crushed palace mad with rageH
Well half the town WAS wrecked no doubtG
Their crazy anger to assuageH
By dragging it aboutG
-
The end Foul birds defile my skullI
The new king's praises fill the landJ
He clings to precept simple dullI
HIS pyramids on bases standJ
But Lord how usualI
