Last night i saw through the cracked walls againA
-
Father is grandB
Father does allC
Father knows allC
-
Father s rosary reminds me of a cracked wall made of mudD
With so many holes that feel like a thousand eyes feasting on your soulE
His lips move with no soundF
They mumble hail mother of grace hail mother of graceG
They rub on each other like leaves blown by windH
Sometimes really fastI
Sometimes slowJ
Father s fingers look like sand paperK
His thumb pressing over his favorite beadL
Eyes closedM
-
Father is grandB
Father does allC
Father knows allC
-
Opposite the crucifix is father s chairN
With a hundred rosary beads hanging on each nailO
Father picks one and sitsP
Father s robe smells like iron rustQ
Sometimes I catch pinkish stains at it s topsR
His faint attempt at washing off bloodD
-
Last night I saw through the cracked wallsS
Father strangling another girlT
With his longest rosaryU
Perhaps because she had a fat neckV
Her blood dropped from his fingersW
And his lips moves without sound as alwaysX
-
Father is grandB
Father does allC
Father knows allC
-
Sometimes the adults comeY
Wearing sober looksZ
They bow before fatherK
And sit on the other sideA2
Of a constructed wood boxB2
If only they could seeU
The blood stain on his hymn bookC2
-
The children chorusD2
Father is grandB
Father does allC
Father knows allC
-
Say it LouderK
-
Father is grandB
Father does allC
Father knows allC
-
The cracked walls can t save usD2
Father walks slowlyU
Through the straight lineE2
He looks at meU
With cold eyesF2
We both have blue eyesF2
Except mine his filled with fearG2
And his with pleasureK
Come with me Father saysH2
Perhaps he will use the green rosaryU
It matches my skin toneI2
-
Father forgive me it is my faultJ2
Mea culpa mea culpaK2
-
What seems Holy is notL2
Father is not grandB
Father does nothingM2
Father knows nothingM2
Father s beads killN2
FatherK
FatherK
