Balade Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBCCDD BBCCDD BBCCDD

from the French of Wenceslas Duke of Brabant and Luxembourg who died inA
I cannot tell of twain beneath this bondB
Which one in grief the other goes beyondB
Narcissus who to end the pain he boreC
Died of the love that could not help him moreC
Or I that pine because I cannot seeD
The lady who is queen and love to meD
-
Nay for Narcissus in the forest pondB
Seeing his image made entreaty fondB
'Beloved comfort on my longing pour'C
So for a while he soothed his passion soreC
So cannot I for all too far is sheD
The lady who is queen and love to meD
-
But since that I have Love's true colours donnedB
I in his service will not now despondB
For in extremes Love yet can all restoreC
So till her beauty walks the world no moreC
All day remembered in my hope shall beD
The lady who is queen and love to meD
