Twilight On Sixth Avenue At Ninth Street Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEFE AGHG AIJK LMNO

Over the tops of the housesA
Twilight and sunset meetB
The green diaphanous duskC
Sinks to the eager streetB
-
Astray in the tangle of roofsD
Wanders a wind of JuneE
The dial shines in the clock towerF
Like the face of a strange scrawled moonE
-
The narrowing lines of the housesA
Palely begin to gleamG
And the hurrying crowds fade softlyH
Like an army in a dreamG
-
Above the vanishing facesA
A phantom train flares onI
With a voice that shakes the shadowsJ
Diminishes and is goneK
-
And I walk with the journeying throngL
In such a solitudeM
As where a lonely oceanN
Washes a lonely woodO
