The Aim Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEFE GHCH BIJI

O thou who lovest not aloneA
The swift success the instant goalB
But hast a lenient eye to markC
The failures of th' inconstant soulB
-
Consider not my little worthD
The mean achievement scamped in actE
The high resolve and low resultF
The dream that durst not face the factE
-
But count the reach of my desireG
Let this be something in Thy sightH
I have not in the slothful darkC
Forgot the Vision and the HeightH
-
Neither my body nor my soulB
To earth's low ease will yield consentI
I praise Thee for my will to striveJ
I bless Thy goad of discontentI
