All Night The Lone Cicada Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DBCB EBFB CBGH

All night the lone cicadaA
Kept shrilling through the rainB
A voice of joy undauntedC
By unforgotten painB
-
Down from the wind blown branchesD
Rang out the high refrainB
By tumult undisheartenedC
By storm assailed in vainB
-
To looming vasts of mountainE
And shadowy deeps of plainB
The ephemeral brave defianceF
Adventured not in vainB
-
Till to the faltering spiritC
And to the weary brainB
From loss and fear and failureG
My joy returned againH
