Arms And The Man Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABC DDEEFFG GHI JJ

Young Croesus went to pay his callA
On Colonel Sawbones Caxton HallA
And though his wound was healed and mendedB
He hoped he'd get his leave extendedC
-
The waiting room was dark and bareD
He eyed a neat framed notice thereD
Above the fireplace hung to showE
Disabled heroes where to goE
For arms and legs with scale of priceF
And words of dignified adviceF
How officers could get them freeG
-
Elbow or shoulder hip or kneeG
Two arms two legs though all were lostH
They'd be restored him free of costI
-
Then a Girl Guide looked in to sayJ
Will Captain Croesus come this wayJ
