She's only 16
Smile on her lips
Laughing, jumping, running around
She's only a kid.
But life isn't good to her,
11 when it all starts.
Crying, tears on her cheek
Laughing and smiling all they see.
Pretending when she feels broke
No one by her side to know
All she had was empty nights
And tears on the sheets.
Her mother never knew
Her friends never cared
All they saw was her smile
Not the tears left behind.
3:00 am on the clock
Looking at the sky all she does
It looks so pretty from here
She wish she could be a part of that.
Looking down the window cell
One jump is all it takes.
Maybe she wasn't brave before
But now she's 16, she's braver than before
Breathing stopped, blood flew
Now all they knew she was 16.
