| Backward I see in me inexplicable naivety | B |
| Forward I see in this lady a careless aunty | B |
| Who walks through life against the odds intrepidly | C |
| Who knows what s right and wrong instinctively | C |
| I am here alive to survive the very sad moments | D |
| To thrive to blossom and never be like monuments | D |
| With three beautiful hearts inside my delicate body | C |
| I am stronger than any other fortieth fragile lady | C |
| My three hearts will forever keep me alive to breathe | E |
| Motherhood to transcend evilness and to never seethe | E |
| My angels will always give me the wings to fly away | F |
| Away from whatever takes my glamour and glee away | F |
| To make me age languish and despair all along the way | F |
| My three angels are here to make me love my forty | C |

Poet's note: I wrote this poem the very moment I reached my forty years. I am now a fortyish lady who loves her strength after thirty nine long years of tears and laughters. With my three children in my life, I simply feel blessed to have been able to make it until 40. I dedicate this poem to Anes, Marame and Rofaida, my three angels
