To A Young Lady, On Her Birthday Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCDEEFFGGHHIIBBB

This tributary verse receive my fairA
Warm with an ardent lover's fondest prayerA
May this returning day for ever findB
Thy form more lovely more adorn'd thy mindB
All pains all cares may favouring heaven removeC
All but the sweet solicitudes of loveD
May powerful nature join with grateful artE
To point each glance and force it to the heartE
O then when conquer'd crowds confess thy swayF
When even proud wealth and prouder wit obeyF
My fair be mindful of the mighty trustG
Alas 'tis hard for beauty to be justG
Those sovereign charms with strictest care employH
Nor give the generous pain the worthless joyH
With his own form acquaint the forward foolI
Shown in the mimic glass of ridiculeI
Teach mimic censure her own faults to findB
No more let coquettes to themselves be blindB
So shall Belinda's charms improve mankindB
